Instinct

Beneath the dark of night
     they trudge slowly
     creatures hungry for brains

More damned than evil

Like a mob from the movies
     we mindlessly destroy with fire
filling our need to kill anything wretched

If only zombies could scream

Guest poet

Brains everywhere on streets
More undead creature madness follows
wretched human wandering the night
a shot plagues the grave horror

Freedom

It rises from the grave
Rotten flesh sagging
A shadow of the living
   Moaning
      Hungry
        Confused
A shot screams out
I whisper no more.

[This interpretation of this poem has brought several viewpoints.  I would be interested to know what you think about this, especially who is the person speaking (who no longer whispers).]

Kyonshi

Flesh eating zombies
Soulless beneath only flesh
Could I outrun it?

[this Haiku was a collaboration with Jaiden.  The title means "living dead" or "reanimated dead" in Japanese]

Disembodied wonder

Why would my corpse
Soulless & dead
Plague the streets
Groaning
A wretched
      mindless
           horror

We all die alone

We come again
Creatures of need
Wretched together
Always alive
Wandering through the undead planet

[when I was composing this poem, I wanted to write "Always alone", but due to the limitations of the magnetic poetry set, this is how it came out]

Lost

Between mindless flesh eating zombies
There is madness everywhere
Apocalypse to follow

The first poem

Zombie

Mindless human corpse
Wandering the night
Alive no more
Unstoppable
  Undead creature
That feasts on flesh & brains
